SOUTHBURY - Frank Sterling, 93, departed this life on February 25, 2020, at Waterbury Hospital. Frank was born in Shelton, CT on December 3, 1926, to the late Frank and Toephila (Kasruba) Sciongay.
Frank was a true renaissance man. As a teenager during the latter years of WWII, he was an actor in Hollywood where he met his life partner Richard V. Roach. After the war, they returned to Connecticut moving to Bethlehem where they managed a 50-acre farm and raised pedigree German Schnauzers. They then moved to Woodbury where the home garden created by Frank received regional acclaim. They moved to Heritage Village in 2003.
He was an accomplished artist in the folk-art style of Grandma Moses and a renowned chef.
Frank was predeceased by his life partner Richard and his many siblings. He is survived by his brother Henry Sciongay, Sr, and many of his nieces and nephews.
