SOUTHBURY - Charles Hellriegel, 98, formerly of New Jersey, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019, at the Lutheran Home in Southbury.

Charles was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on August 17, 1921, to the late Charles and Jeanette Hellriegel. He graduated from William L. Dickinson High School in 1940, and spent the majority of his life in New Jersey. Charles loved the opera and watching classic movies. He moved to Connecticut 5 years ago to be closer to his family.

He is survived by his brother: Donald Hellriegel; two nephews: Kevin and Michael Hellriegel; a niece: Elyce Brown; and several great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South in Southbury. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation prior to Mass from 10:00-10:45 AM in the daily chapel at Sacred Heart Church.
